Cats-Eye LLC will hold an open call for the 2010-2011 National Tour of CATS. Rehearsals begin approximately early fall 2010.

OPEN CALL FOR SINGERS - Seeking:
Rum Tum Tugger – Male, 20s-30s, Rock Star, Mick Jagger type. Iconoclast, rebel, loves the ladies. Excellent rock singer with falsetto. Must move well.
Gus/Growltiger – Male, Character Singer/Actor, Tenor, strong legit or operatic voice to Bb. Craggy, cranky. Great storyteller – loves to reminisce about his days on the stage. Doubles as GROWLTIGER, his alter ego, a fearless, swashbuckling opera pirate. Must move well.
Old Deuteronomy - Male, preferably 30s-50s. BariTenor to a legit G. Resonant, flexible voice. The leader of the tribe, he is ageless, soulful, and mature. Must move well.
Munkustrap – Male, 5’11” and up, 20s-early 30s, Excellent Baritone/Tenor to a legit G. The prince of the tribe, youthful, attractive. Must move very well.
Grizabella – Female. EXCELLENT belter to E-flat (sings “Memory”) and strong actress. Outcast, was a Glamour Cat in her early years but left the tribe in disgrace.
Jellylorum – 5’7”-5’10”, Female, the Opera Cat, excellent legit soprano to high C. The nurse cat. Mature, strong character actress. Must move well.
JennyAnydots – Female, the Gumbie Cat, strong belt & mix. Quirky, delightful character actress with great sense of humor. Must move well. Tap a plus.
Demeter – Female, 5’7”-5’8”, strong dancer, strong singer w/ belt/mix to C. Sexy but insecure and skittish, fearful.
Bombalurina – Female, 5’7” and up, strong dancer, strong singer w/ belt to C. Goodtime girl, sexy & outgoing, fearless and fun-loving.
Sillabub – Female, 5’3” and under, strong soprano, must be a strong dancer. Precocious kitten, idolizes Bombalurina & has a crush on Tugger.
Male and Female Ensemble/Swings
Please prepare 16 bars of an appropriate Musical Theatre selection (for Tugger, please prepare a rock song) and bring your book in case you are asked to sing another selection. Bring a Picture/Resume and sheet music in the appropriate key. Accompanist will be provided. Typing may occur. Be prepared to dance with flat jazz shoes if called back.
OPEN CALL FOR DANCERS - Seeking:
Munkustrap – Male, 5’11” and up, 20s-early 30s, Excellent Baritone/Tenor to a legit G. The prince of the tribe, youthful, attractive. Must move very well.
Mistoffelees - Male, on the shorter side, Excellent Dancer, proficient in Ballet and Jazz. Must have turns in Second (pirouettes à la seconde). Magical, aloof, enigmatic, quirky, loves to show off.
Macavity – Male, 6’0” and up, excellent dancer, tumbler. Tall and commanding. Evil, terrorizes the tribe. Doubles as Plato, a laconic, lackadaisical cat – the opposite of Macavity.
Skimbleshanks – Male, 5’9” and up, strong Tenor, strong dancer. Everyone’s favorite uncle. Persnickety, fun-loving, great storyteller.
Mungojerrie – Male, short, strong singer and dancer; tumbling skills a plus. Mischievous, energetic kitten who always gets into trouble with his partner-in-crime, Rumpelteazer.
Rumpelteazer - Female, short, strong dancer and singer w/belt/mix, tumbling skills a plus. Mischievous, energetic kitten who always gets into trouble with her partner-in-crime, Mungojerrie.
Demeter – Female, 5’7”-5’8”, strong dancer, strong singer w/ belt/mix to C. Sexy but insecure and skittish, fearful.
Bombalurina – Female, 5’7” and up, strong dancer, strong singer w/ belt to C. Goodtime girl, sexy & outgoing, fearless and fun-loving.

Cassandra – Female, 5’7”-5’10, excellent dancer, strong ballet technique, great extension. Poised, well-bred, aloof, and always in beautiful condition.
Alonzo – 5’10”-6’0”, excellent ballet technique, good partner. Strong presence, attractive. Emulates Munkustrap but struggles to find his own strength and courage in the face of adversity.
Tumblebrutus – 5’8”-5’9”, excellent dancer who tumbles. Juvenile delinquent. A tough kitten, troublemaker.
Victoria – Female, 5’5” and under, excellent ballet technique. Pampered house kitten on the cusp of womanhood, innocent but discovering – and enjoying – her sensuality.
Male and Female Ensemble/Swings - Wide Range of height, but must have an athletic build. Must be proficient in Jazz, Ballet and Tap and able to sing well. Strong tumbling skills a plus.
Please come prepared to dance with flat jazz shoes, and bring sheet music in the correct key in case you are asked to sing. Bring a current picture/resume.
All positions are paid (Salary + Per Diem + Housing + Health Insurance).
